Within the scope of a competition two_product developed two highly efficient, adaptable and energetically optimized lamp product families.
The aim, to design a sustainable building- and technology concept, which does justice to the diversity and flexibility of today’ s working world has been realized by many kind of aspects. At the same time it has been tried to measure up particular expectations as modularity and adaptability to usage-/ building- and energy concepts as well as low power requirement and the integration of renewable energy sources.
From this viewpoint the lamps meteor and comet were created to optimize and replace its forerunner sunset and level.
The slim, but steady column of the meteor floor lamp is configurable with different colors and materials. It holds an elegant chrome tubing which center supports a round, laminate structured lighthead for different lighting techniques. Its calm, balanced appearance and the togetherness of chromed metal, satined resin and velvety mat lacquer coat impart elegance and value.
The larger, indirect light portion creates generous, tire-free room light by the reflecting the light of four compact fluorescent lights, or alternatively LED lights, sitting in a translucent plastic case.The formal, round design language of meteor, its floating shade, the soft touch and the coloration of the column resemble in appearance a residential lighting.
On the other hand, the comet light, which has the same column stand with central tubing as her related product family of meteor, but with its slim, pivotable, multi-layered structured lighthead rather recalls the appearance of a tail of stars. By this vivid, asymmetrical appearance and the same interplay of chromed metal, satined resin and velvety mat lacquer coat a valuable modernity is being expressed.
The significance of comet lies in the possibility of individual choice of lighting technique within a modular assembly system as well as in the choice of the amount of lightheads. This is how one can adjust the distribution of the direct and indirect lighting portion at the work place through different modules.
The dynamic, innovative design language of comet correspond with the innovative, light technical functionality approach and hence creates an overall aesthetics with recognition.
Both lighting stands are complemented by a writing desk-/ ceiling- and wall lamp within the modular assembly system. This is enabling a uniform design concept for the room, but also leading to a reduction of components during manufaction.
These concepts unite emotional aesthetics with economic light technology and the most important key factors as functionality, sustainability, flexibility and value are being realized in meteor and comet.
